My Career at a Glance

Media has always awed me! It all started when I lifted a fader and went on air in a makeshift studio at Gateway International School in sunny Sri Lanka. 'Frontier FM 96.2' lasted just four days, but it set the cornerstone for my media journey.

After weekends as a trainee DJ and part-time mall host, I won an on-air competition that led to a voice audition at SunFM. Starting as a presenter, I soon discovered my passion for production, creating fresh imaging and promos, including 'The Best in News' top-of-the-hour news jingle.

Two years later at YESFM, I honed my skills as a Senior Producer, shaping the station's iconic audio identity. I maintained YESFM's brand tonality through imaging, jingles, and on-air content, ensuring long-term brand recognition. Our two-man production team introduced a station voice that still serves as the station's signature sound 15 years later.

I also hosted the 'Reload' youth television show for over three years, achieving high ratings for ‘Most Watched Youth Program,’ and served as a morning show anchor. Additionally, I worked as a liaison between the radio station and TV channels, collaborating with animation and TV production teams to bring visual elements to radio promotions, events, and reality competitions.

At EFM, I played a pivotal role in navigating the station through a format change, developing a new tone of voice and audio identity. This resulted in a rise in radio ratings and attracted a wider demographic. I spearheaded campaigns on social issues like gender-based violence, mentored aspiring presenters, and collaborated with marketing to build custom on-air promotions for clients.

(Taking a leap of faith) I transitioned to freelance work in 2012, which opened doors to diverse collaborations and strong long-term relationships with agencies, production houses, and direct clients. I've produced radio spots, TV series, documentaries, and corporate videos for various brands, helping them enhance their media presence.

As I embark on new adventures in Denmark, I'm excited to continue pushing creative boundaries and crafting more tales.

Hejsa!!
